Mike Clark receives Angies List Page of Happiness for New Furnace

Monday, May 11th, 2009
From Angie’s List
Description Of Work:
Mike Clark came over twice to talk over the project, did a thorough examination of the house, provided a BTU load test, corresponded punctually by email throughout our negotiations, and was straightforward, to the point, and professional. Installers (Solomon and Bryan) replaced our furnace with a Bryant 95% efficiency furnace ($1,500 tax credit to come!), installed a dampered zoning system by Honeywell, installed two thermostats (one on main floor, one upstairs), installed a Honeywell humidifier, ran the condensation line over to sink instead of the floor drain, thoroughly cleaned the work area, were polite and cordial to my wife, completely explained the functions and maintenance of the furnace, did a fantastic job, etc.
Member Comments:
We wanted to control the heat exchange better in our 110 year old home that does not have the greatest ductwork serving each floor. Instead starting over, ripping the ducts out, and costing us tons, Mike felt that controlling the mainfloor and upstairs air supply with a dampering zoning system would get us closer to where we want to be with even air exchange in the house. Never did he act like this would completely solve the temp issues upstairs, but he felt like this was the most cost effective way to even out air exchange..the house is old, it’s impossible to get it perfect! I liked that Mike didn’t try to sell me the $1,500 tax credit – he stated it was available and something we should look into (which we already planned to do) and then he emailed me the link to the forms. There was no ‘used car saleman’ pressure at all. He gave straight opinions and was fair in price negotiations. Installers Solomon and Bryan were great. They came early and stayed late until it was done. They cleaned up nicely, they were friendly to my wife, my dog, even my chatty neighbor. You could tell immediately that these guys have been doing this for decades. Solomon walked me through the functions of the furnace and thermostat until I completely understood. Good job from these guys.

A service compliment! Charlie seviced our furnace and did a supurb job! We were not only impressed with his ‘fix’ of our pilot problem, but he thoroughly cleaned the furnace and checked the functionality and tested throughly. Then as an added extra he showed us how to correctly light the pilot in case of future need. Please share this with his supervisor in Bolingbrook. Thank you.
